The City of Huntington Woods operates a seasonal outdoor pool for the enjoyment of all its residents located adjacent to the Gillham Recreation Center. The pool is an innovative design that combines two pools in one. The zero-depth entry area is a shallow water wonderland with its custom-made water features including kiddie bubblers, shooting lemon drops, a waterfall umbrella, a kiddie slide, and a larger water slide with a separate splashdown area. Other innovative features include underwater benches, therapy jets, and umbrellas for in-water shade. The competitive swimming and diving area features track-style starting platforms, tiled racing lanes and a 1 meter diving board with a 12 ft. diving well. The pool has a state-of-the-art filtration system which filters 261,000 gallons of water every 6 hours, high-efficiency heaters, an automatic water level controller, and a computerized chemical control system.
