Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten through 5th Grade. After school until 6:00 pm.
The Huntington Woods Recreation Department (not affiliated with Berkley Schools) provides after-school care in the Gillham Recreation Center for children attending Burton School. This program is licensed by the State of Michigan and follows all required guidelines. The program provides age-appropriate activities and quality care. During half-days and full vacation days, a wide variety of activities and field trips are offered first-come, first-serve.

LATCHKEY ENROLLMENT FEE
A $70 per child non-refundable deposit must accompany each registration. You will receive a $5 credit for siblings living in the same household, also enrolled in Latchkey.
REGISTRATION BEGINS @ 8:30 AM ON THE FOLLOWING DATES:
Tuesday April 9, 2024 – HW Residents & Grandfathered RO Section
Tuesday April 16, 2024 – RO Section & BSD Teachers
Registration is first-come-first-served online or at the Rec Center front desk.
PLACEMENT/WAITLIST NOTIFICATION
Due to state licensing guidelines each classroom has limited space. Enrollment will continue until daily classroom (grade) maximums have been reached. Therefore, some students may be on a waitlist and we will notify families if space becomes available.
MINIMUM THREE DAYS/WEEK REQUIREMENT
Children must be pre-registered each month for a minimum of three days per week (or 12 days per month).
DAILY RATES
After School (3:15-6:00p) - $15.00
Half Vacation (11:15a-6:00p) - $41.00
Full Vacation (9:00a-6:00p) - $54.00
FULL AND HALF VACATION DAY ENROLLMENT
On half and full vacation days maximum enrollment is 40. An additional fee for each field trip will be charged.
AFTER SCHOOL LATCHKEY PICK UP
Only students in grades TK - 1, registered and paid for Latchkey on that day, will be picked up from Burton and walked to the Gillham Recreation Center.
AFTER SCHOOL RECREATION CLASSES PROCEDURE
Should you enroll your child in an afterschool class or activity, they will start at Latchkey and then be escorted to the class. Your child will be returned to Latchkey after class and must be checked out by a parent. The hourly afterschool rate is not reduced if your child attends a class/activity.
